Islay, the famous whisky island on Scotland's wild west coast, hosts a small and exclusive beach rugby tournament on the second weekend of June.
Limited by tide and sand to only 32 teams (22 mens, 10 ladies), for those in the know, this is one of rugby's most eagerly sought after invitations of the year.
Hard fought, physically demanding, but fun matches are played on Kilnaughton Bay's beach, conveniently located in front of the White Hotel in the picturesque village of Port Ellen.
Convivial and relaxed, it is considered by some to be Scotland's most enjoyable rugby event; it may be the Friday night beach barbeque or the Saturday night ceilidh, but mainly it is Islay, the rugby camaraderie and the craic.
All are welcome - wives, girlfriends and family - bring your shorts you may even get a game.
Life's a beach. And then there's Islay.
