WHAT A WEEKEND!

On behalf of the Islay Rugby Club I would like to thank all participants in the 2010 Islay Beach Rugby tournament for making this such a great weekend. I understand the Moffat boys finally made it off the island on monday!

The weather stayed fine and we managed to keep the rugby flowing with Ardbeg running out eventual winners in the mens competition and Hillhead in the ladies. We won't forget those games in a hurry, the atmosphere was quite extraordinary!

It was great to have some new teams along to add a new edge to the matches as well as seeing so many familiar faces.

There were around 2000 people at the event an enthusiastic gathering of rugby fans, islanders, families, visitors and players.  I hope you all enjoyed yourselves in this celebration of rugby - we certainly enjoyed having you over and look forward to seeing you again next year on Saturday 11th June.
